Shuttle and bus services

  • General information

You can arrange to take a van, shuttle or bus from the airport to your destination. This tends to be a more affordable option than a taxi. There are several options. You can also make these arrangements in advance of your arrival to make the experience less stressful. To find out more, visit the Out-of-Town Shuttle and Bus Services page on the Toronto Pearson Airport website.

If you are travelling to Oshawa or Ontario Tech University, this will cost approximately CDN$82 (it is customary to tip the driver as well—typically $5).

Please note that the cost may increase if you have guests.

  • Where do I find Out-of-Town Shuttle and Bus Services in the airport?
    • Go to the Ground Transportation Counter (also called Out-of-Town Van Services).
      • Terminal 1: located on Level G
      • Terminal 3: Located on Level 1 - Arrivals
    • Inform the attendant at the counter that you would like a ride. Give them your destination address.
    • Wait inside for the driver who will come inside the terminal, call your name and assist you with your luggage.
      • Note: It is customary to give a tip to the driver if they help you with a lot of luggage. Typically, people give CDN$5.

If you cannot find the Ground Transportation Counter, you can use any telephone in the terminal to call 1.800.387.5450 for help. This call is free of charge.

Feel free to use the interactive maps of Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 to locate the shuttle counter.

Public transportation

  • Transit systems

Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and the Durham Region all have different transit systems that connect and intersect. Each transit system has its own fares and schedules. It can sometimes be confusing to plan a route when transfers are required between systems. Note: You should have your fare payment ready as buses cannot make change.

    Transit system

    Area of service

    Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)

    • Main transit system within Toronto and the downtown core.
    • Includes buses, streets cars and subway.

    GO Transit

    • Network of trains and bus lines that operate in the Greater Toronto Area.
    • Trains and buses have main stops in the downtown area but largely connect surrounding cities with Toronto.

    Go Transit fares

    Durham Region Transit (DRT)

    • Transit system for Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa and other cities in the Durham Region.

  • Planning your route

The Google Transit Trip Planner is a useful tool to help you plan your bus routes from your location to your destination.

    View the Google Maps Transit.

    • This guide will show you the steps to find out which buses and trains to take, when they will arrive, and how long the journey will be. Note: The prices may vary, depending on what route you choose to take and how many different transit lines it requires.

The university's interactive map is also a great tool for finding your route to our campus.
