Student life on campus

Our university campus is greatly enriched by a diverse study body. A variety of fun activities and informative sessions are planned to welcome you to campus and assist you with the transition to university. Our university's International office hosts an orientation for you to help you adjust to university life and living in Oshawa. No matter where your interests lie, you are sure to find a club, program or activity to maximize your experience inside and outside the classroom.

International students may find the following opportunities of particular interest. To learn about all that campus life has to offer, visit the Community page of the current undergraduate students website.

General information

International students may find the following opportunities of particular interest. To learn about all campus life has to offer, visit the Community page of the Student Life website.

Ontario Tech Student Union

There are many opportunities for international students to be involved with your Ontario Tech Student Union and our Student Experience programs, which promote intellectual and personal growth by connecting you with the development of new initiatives.

Many of our students participate in one or more of our dozens of active cultural and religion-based student organizations, which represent groups from East and South Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. There are also program-specific groups.

International Students Club

The International Students Club creates a welcoming and fun environment for international students, so living away from home becomes a lifetime experience. This club also has a focus on doing charity work—helping others around the world who need a helping hand.

The club uses Facebook as its main communication tool. Members can post event ideas, meet new people, see upcoming events and more. Contact to learn more.

Student clubs

Many of our international students connect with their campus community through the Ontario Tech Student Union’s (OTSU) Clubs and Societies. The OTSU offers a number of ratified student groups that range from program-specific, hobby-based, spiritual/ religious and social justice.

As a student at Ontario Tech, you have the ability to participate in any club or start your own! Visit the OTSU website to learn more.

Graduate Student Association

Graduate students may contact the Ontario Tech Student Union’s (OTSU) Graduate Student Council.
