I became an ISL to support international students in feeling welcomed, understood, and connected. As an international student myself, I know how important it is to have someone who gets it, and I am excited to be that person for others!

To help out all the incoming international students, because when I was a first year student, the ISL students were really helpful and very welcoming and I want to do the same thing for other incoming students.

Reason for becoming an ISL: I became an ISL because I know how overwhelming it can feel to start fresh in a new environment. I wanted to be someone that international students could turn to for support, encouragement, and a familiar face.

Reason for becoming an ISL: As an international student, I struggled with making friends, adapting to the weather, and handling daily life alone—from groceries to homesickness. I became an ISL to help others through these challenges and show them that it’s possible to build connections, enjoy new cities, explore diverse cultures, and truly make the most of life in a new country.
