International Student Leaders

International Student Leaders (ISLs) collaborate with the International Student Advising team to host events and provide opportunities for international students to connect and create a sense of community.

    Fun fact: I was part of the university's varsity badminton team last academic year.

    Reason for becoming an ISL: 

    To help out all the incoming international students, because when I was a first year student, the ISL students were really helpful and very welcoming and I want to do the same thing for other incoming students.

    Reason for becoming an ISL: Just to keep the community circle growing, love to make people's transition sweet and smooth!

    Reason for becoming an ISL:  As an international student, I struggled with making friends, adapting to the weather, and handling daily life alone—from groceries to homesickness. I became an ISL to help others through these challenges and show them that it’s possible to build connections, enjoy new cities, explore diverse cultures, and truly make the most of life in a new country.

    Reason for becoming an ISL: I became an ISL becase I know how important it is to find your people at university, and honestly, I just wanted to help turn campus into one big second family :)

    Fun fact: My las name means "memorizer" in Arabic, which is hilarious because I usually have the memory of a goldfish.

    Reason for becoming an ISL: I want to help new students feel welcomed, supported, informed, guided, and a little less overwhelmed. I want to help them transition into the new phase of their life without getting burnout.
