Orientation

We offer various international and exchange student orientation events that you are highly encouraged to attend. These programs are geared to help ease your transition to Ontario Tech.

We encourage you to monitor the following webpages for updates on events as they become available. In addition, follow Student Life on Instagram to stay up-to-date with all things Ontario Tech transition support. 

Pre-arrival program
This program is designed to help you make a smooth transition to life in Canada. You'll be given crucial insights on what to prepare before your departure, including documentation, travel tips and arriving here. We'll discuss the support services offered by the International Office including personalized support, workshops and community engagement opportunities. You'll also have the opportunity to hear about health coverage benefits and academic support options offered to you. The virtual program is scheduled for Monday, December 16 or Wednesday, December 18 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. EST. Register today!

New Arrival Support Program (NASP) connects you with International Student Leader (ISL) volunteers who will support you as you transition into Oshawa. This event is structured based on your particular needs as you arrive in the city! For example, it can include a campus tour, help getting banking and phone plans set up, and many more. It's an amazing opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Ontario Tech, you are highly encouraged to register. You can register through the Google form.

Pre-Orientation Social Event - Virtual Chill "N" Chat
Calling all incoming International Students! Get ready to kick off your journey with a bang at our Virtual Chill 'N' Chat—the ultimate event of the year! Join us as international students come together for an unforgettable experience filled with friendship, fun, and fierce competition. This event takes place mid-August prior to the start of the academic year. Check back for updates!
